Season, spots and rules

The best spearfishing in Phuket is from November to April, when the Andaman Sea is calm and visibility often reaches 15โ€“25 metres. During the Mayโ€“October monsoon we hunt only on calm days and from sheltered spots. Most trips leave from Chalong pier to Racha Yai, Racha Noi and the King Cruiser wreck area, targeting pelagic fish in open water away from the reefs.

Spearfishing in Thailand is legal only on a breath-hold โ€” never with scuba โ€” and never inside marine national parks such as Phi Phi, Similan or Surin. Before every trip we brief you on protected species, size limits and where hunting is allowed.
